i could agree with the diet/workout percentage. I did all kinds of workouts for years and never lost any significant weight. Last year i was on around 265 pounds, had some minor sugar and high blood pressure problem, so decided to cut off all the sugar foods and white bread. After 4 months i was at 222. After few months i kinda dropped out, well cookies, cakes and ice cream (and sugar is everywhere), went up a bit. now i am again trying to cut out sugar, i think it is easier to not do cocaine :D

I totally agree Bil, I think it is indeed easier to quit drugs hahaha.

Very inspirational. Thank you for sharing.

Intermittant fasting seems to be working fairly well for me, (16 hours+/day) in summer anyway.

Cut out most of the processed food as well. (fast food, soda, etc.)

My journey started in 2011, hit 100KG, now down to 84KG, most of that came off through exercise.

After some time I realized that my diet wasn't a very good source of fuel, especially when I wasn't riding daily.

Winter is always challenging though, cold weather cranks my appetite into overdrive.

I've done some intermittent fasting and kind of follow it loosely now. Congrats on your weight loss! Like you, I find winter definitely harder. In general, I hate winter and I'm making an effort to head to warmer climates more frequently during that time.

Congrats on your milestone Brad! That's awesome. I could use some accountability with this very thing. I was diagnosed type 2 diabetic in 2010 and after a couple of years of feeling like shit on metformin, statins and ace inhibitors and a crap diet, I took the same decision that you did and went paleo in 2012. Since then I've not been back on meds, but I'm not strict either. In fact, I was eating bread and cheese whilst watching your video. I know I can follow the path, but I keep wandering into sugar land. It's frustrating. Anyway, this is about you, not me, so many congrats. You inspire me in all sorts of ways, not the least of which is health!

Thank you Cams! I'll check in with you periodically about health and diet. It'll be not only a bit of accountability for you, but for me as well ;) Appreciate you man.

Wow congrats!! Are there people out there that actually lose weight from a high carb diet? My husband always gets annoyed with me when I suggest different diet ideas. He always tells me, “I already know what works for my body, I’ve tried other ways and my body just doesn’t like it.” You mean it’s not a one-size-fits-all?? Bummer lol.

Yeah it is interesting to hear people discuss what has worked for them, etc. Every body is unique and I suppose if it was easy, no one would be over weight, hahaha. Certainly took some discipline and admittedly, I would get lazy at times. Starts first with the decision to change though!

This is awesome. Congratulations and keep going!

I have a lot of buddies that are doing Keto!! Ive heard a lot about it! Comgrats on the weightloss! Keep it up Capt!

Thank you @aarongmunoz. I really appreciate it man. Yeah, it has worked for me, but I know it isn't for everyone. Just want people to be aware that it is an option if you seem to need to shake up the system a bit ;)

That is such a great accomplishment! Congrats on your weight loss! I may or may not have told you, but my brother Jared is on the Ketogenic diet. He loves it. I think he talks about it in one of his hiking/trail running videos. I probably need to be more careful with my diet, I was diagnosed a few years ago with Pre-Diabetes. I had no idea that was a thing. But then 6 months after that, I had my blood tested and I was no longer in the pre-diabetes range, but I haven't had my blood tested again in quite some time. haha. Well back to filming my Belgian Sugar Waffles video....lol :)

hahaha Sugar Waffles 😂😂

hehehe :) video post coming soon. hehe yes I am diabolical. hehe

@mrchef111 is my nemesis with all these carb loaded recipes! They all look so good, hahahaha.

hehehe hey I made the spring rolls recipe which are very healthy....hehehe

I really enjoyed this video @captianbob
A similar thing worked for me too. Not strictly Keto, but similar. I basically cut out sugars and grains and ate a lot more green veg, drank a lot more water.
Unlike @mrchef111 I wasn't diagnosed but I felt pre-diabetic. My dad has diabetes and my grandpa died of it. So I had to take action. I'm starting to get a little lazy right now - allowing the more than occasional ice cream and stuff like that (since the summer was so hot) :)
Got to get back on the fitness bike (metaphorically speaking)

Hey thanks man! Yeah I'm definitely sensitive the carbs and when doing long biking trips, I thought I had to eat carbs to make it, but I've since learned that I can do long periods of exercise, etc if I just work to keep my heart rate managed a bit. It's taken some time, but I can now do fasted rides, etc and it doesn't bother me which I find to be absolutely crazy, haha.

Holy wow!!! So proud of you! My dad is about that weight. 248. How I wish I could inspire him! Amazing

Thanks! It's been a long journey but I'm happy with the results so far. It isn't easy though and I can understand how people can feel out of control. It's refreshing to take that control back :)
