What is community?
One of the definitions of community is a group of people who live together at the same place with certain attitudes and interests in common.
Most of us in steemit have the common interest of earning online through quality content creations.
There are different discords that are set up to form different communities.
I have just joined the @steemjet discord. Since interest in crypto and blockchain education are the main core of this community, I believe I can participate as I am promoting the good quality content through my little curation effort in steemit which is part of our favourite blockchain.
With the different communities in discords, we form a population of united purpose with common interest of putting up quality content and most of us desire that steemit continue to grow.
Just like the ants are small insects but as a community, they are able to move larger objects that are a lot bigger.
Let's stay united and move steemit to a greater height together.
Support others first before you get the support that you need.
Don't ask for upvotes but let the upvotes come as you build your reputation and the quality of content.
Don't forget to join a good community to support you in your journey.
Curation initiative
Dust Upvote Initiative aims to curate quality content creators mainly from @dtube, @dsound, @steempress as well as some exceptions.
It is a community support initiative that has been around running about a month now.
Support initiative aims to reach as many as possible with the tolerance of the steem power available.
Selected Content Creators
Selected Content Creators are given daily upvote with different upvote weight based on the quality of articles, the positive response to comments and the support given to Dust Upvote Initiative.
In the future, Dust Upvote Initiative may be able to form a community that supports one another.
Selection is based mainly on the decision by @delegate4upvot and recommendation by @fun2learn who is the main supporter of this initiative.
Selected Content Creators are added to steemauto manually actually.
Interested applicants
Those who are regular content creators in @dtube, @dsound and @steempress can choose to post your latest post in the comment section for consideration into this initiative.
Due to steem power constrain, the initiative can only take in a small number of content creators.
Regularly weekly increase of delegation of steem power is still on-going.
The latest total steem power is 400 SP.
In conclusion
A community is a gathering of people with common interest and I hope to support others as well as gain support for this initiative.
Steemit members who choose to support this initiative unconditionally does get the attention and possible priority into the initiative but quality content still plays an important part as a criterion.
Hopefully, this initiative can last for many years to come as it is still in the beta stage.
