It's Such A Lovely Feeling When I'm In Your Arms...

Oh the pain.

I knew this was going to happen; been there, down that road before. Just as I need to spend a few quiet hours - or, maybe even a few days, determinedly focussed on crypto related tasks - my mind ablaze with ideas, all ready to put to post.

A knock on the door. "They're here", Mary exclaims with delight.

Ah yes, I think to myself, the guests have arrived.

Just last week, Mary's aunt had called by and asked - very nicely of course, since that is her way - if we could accommodate her 84th birthday here. Muttering to myself in silence, "at our place, oh why?", I turn around, smiling widely, and say, "Of course Auntie, we would love to celebrate your birthday here, with you and your friends".

She's been too kind to us, making our move to this new apartment so much easier. In the background, the kettle she bought for us boiling away. Coffee!

Oh the pain.

Having a room full of old ladies and their gossipping! On a Saturday as well, my most productive day. Unable to move the PC from the lounge, and with no mobile access, I would have to turn off the device. Darn, why here!

The day before, helping Mary as best I can with the food preparation. Must have eaten something odd a few days ago, as my pancreas is now inflamed. Probably something fatty, maybe from the fellowship meal after church?

Oh the pain.

Having to help out when my body is telling me I need to stop and rest. No time for that, too much to do. More food prep, then on to some internet activity, back to watching the pots boil and get their contents colandered and put into bowls to cool down, back on to the PC in a hurry.

Where was I, too busy with no time for panic, that's right I was chatting with one of my mates across the ditch on Telegram. Getting my thoughts down and sending off, then there's another online buddy sending me her updated CTP LCP for comment, bounce some ideas back to her. Hey, here's Jon stating something that looks important, so a quick read of that. Yep, got that, "maybe add that to your pin message here" as I reply to Jon.

Two minutes was all I could spare as Mary needs me again. "Get me the flour", she calls out from the table next to me. Off I go, no time to worry about soreness, just a quick shout-out on Telegram "back in a mo".

Oh the pain.

My pancreas has decided pancreatitis is the new trending word. Darn, why now, why today? All I can do is suffer the suffering!

I knew this was going to happen; been there, down that road before. Why do I pain myself so?

Been reading the posts on Steem over the past day or so. A common theme: engagement. Time we spend online to get other people onboard our programs.

Engagement: reaching out to each other, offering our time and effort to help each other succeed.

Engagement in real form. Too easy to ignore the outside world in which we live. A place too often foreign to us as we delve further into ether.

Engagement by click-click-click that is making us forget our own place in life.

Oh the pain.

A knock on the door. "They're here", Ian exclaims with delight.
