RE: Parents To The Gods - Creating A Digital Species
Your thoughtful theory made me think hard, but I must challenge it for two reasons:
- I might be wrong, but it seems to me that it's easier to create a problem than to solve it. It takes much less time to tie a complex knot than to untie it. You can even create a problem without knowing what is its solution (or does a solution exist at all).
- Since time is very relative (time goes slower if you travel fast enough; an outdated computer needs much more time to solve a problem than a powerful computer, but still much less time than a man), "more time than the age of the universe" is also quite relative. : )
