Are you using Faucets? That's what I have learned

Every crypto-newcomer will face them one day: "Faucets". There are nearly everywhere, there is a huge amount of them and they promise you to earn a lot of cryptocurrencies.

I used to be really active at claiming on faucetssides and what I learned from it is: You won't get rich. You lose basically time if you do it mainly. The stop you from being creative.

For everyone who doesn't know what a Faucet is: It's a webside where you enter your walletadress and you are rewarded every 5mins to 1 hour for watching, clicking trough advertisments and solving a capture. After you clicked through the huge amount of ads, you are finally able to claim a very small amount of cryptocurrencies like 5-30 Satoshis.

To review it in a positive way:

  1. It helps you to understand how cryptotransaction work when you withdraw
  2. You really can earn, even though it's a really small amount. If you claim cryptocurrencies you have always the chance of a bullish markets, which could lead to a much bigger amount if converted in fiats like USD, EUR etc.
  3. At somepoint in time you will understand that you have to protect your crypto. A lot of faucets are online only for a short time like 90 days and if you or the faucet didn't used a instant withdraw service like Faucethub, you ending with losing your not withdrawed cryptos.
And that really happens a lot.

But on the other hand even though it's "free", you lose something really important: Your TIME

  1. If you are trying to make real money out of it, depending on the country you live in, you are losing money in the long run. If you would work for 9$ an hour at a local supermarket, and you buy the cryptocurrencies over a exchange you are ending up with a lot more cryptos in 1 hour, then clicking for weeks.
Of course if you are unable to work because of school, another job or other reasons, it's a nice way of second income: It doesn't take a lot of time, and you get something back. But try to use it in a secondary way like: When you are waiting in a lobby of a game to start or when you are looking TV but you don't want to be focused to it. But if you want to earn money in the first place, and you only let the TV running to comfort you you are doing it wrong! If you planned to watch TV, and you use the Faucet it's fine!
  2. You are not only using the for clicking. You are mostly also losing time due to the fact, that you wait for the time to be ready. Try to claim when you are ready not the timer!
  3. Last but not least: You are losing time you could use to be focused to some other important aspects of your life like educating yourself with something new, you are losing time you could spend with friends, family etc or you are losing time that you could use to build your own business.

Faucets are not bad, but you need to handle them with care

If you really want to use Faucets handle them with care and in respect with your time and plans.
A lot of faucets are not going to be online for a long time, so make sure you always withdraw! But have in mind if it triggers a real transaction you have to pay fees! Even though the withdraw can be free, if you have a lot of incoming transactions into your wallet you end up having a bigger fee when you try to send your cryptos to someone else.

The best way to really make some money out of it, is by getting referals. Referals are users that you invited to the service, and you will earn a small amount extra everytime they claim. If you are able to refer a lot of people, you could end up earning some serious amount of money.
Due to the fact that most faucets don't last long, make sure to refer people only for good and trustworthy faucets, you will not only lose time but also reputation.

  • Try to find faucets that are using Faucethub (If a Faucet uses Faucethub a withdraw doesn't trigger a real transaction in the blockchain but in internal transaction, so you don't have fees, only when you withdraw from Faucethub)

  • or Coinbase, it works in the same way but it's mostly used by mobile app faucets.

The only Faucets that i know which exists for many years and always paid are the "Moon faucets", they also have something very similiar to Faucethub, it's called Coinpot. Coinpot only works with their faucets but has the same function. You can even change your cryptos with coinpot. But also this service could get down at any time.

*I hope i could give you some useful advices about faucets.

*If you are planning to use faucets anyway with responsible handling and respect to your time, below are the links to the in the article mentioned websides. The ones with " * " are referal links, if you use them you are supporting me. The other links are non referal links. Feel free to use both.
