A Stable Crpytocurrency Is In The Works And Silicon Valley Is Backing It With Over 130 Million Dollars

in #cryptocurrency6 years ago

I like tether. I use it when I move my coins around. It is very beneficial to have a coin that is pegged to the price of the USD. To me it already works as a stable currency but there has been controversies lately with the coin. And I guess since it is the coin people are using to trade their crypto with no one is looking to make it a form of currency. But a digital currency that is not volatile is a hot topic and a company called basis wants to do that.

The argument is with a stable coin we can use it as we do cash. Sites will not use coins like bitcoin and ethereum because they are too volatile and companies do not want to worry about the swings. But a coin that is 100% stable could be used as easily as a credit card and be a big deal for crypto. But it would take a lot of fun out of the speculation side.

According to the site the company would mimic a bank with an algorithm that would simulate inflation and deflation to control the price so it acts more like a currency. That sounds pretty cool if it works.

To me I think a currency is needed that is both stable and easy to turn to fiat so we can speculate with the other coins and makes sites like steemit that reward people.

A stable coin seem like a good idea. In this case it will serve a dual functionality, in my opinion it is partly decentralized and centralized. Stable but with relations to economic conditions of inflation and deflation.
I would also really love a currency that can be easily converted to fiat.

So it can be used as a link between crypto and fiat
