As an American citizen I sometimes have problems signing up for and verifying my cryptocurrency accounts. The "brilliant" American government wants to put their fingers in all the proverbial honey pots and make money off the crypto scene as well. I fully approve of wanting to get in on the cryptocurrency lifestlye; that's why I'm here after all (besides all the wonderful users I have met on Steemit, of course).
I DO NOT APPROVE of a government making extra taxes off of online trading.
I DO NOT APPROVE of these actions shutting down options for fellow users.
I DO NOT APPROVE of "local" government restricting the free flow of finance to a point where companies don't even want to deal with US citizens and residents.
Which is why I am so excited to write about Coinbase and Shift! Coinbase is an online exchange, well founded, and with a solid customer support line in place. While Coinbase is unable to connect a US third party payment, in particular PayPal, you have the option to verify a bank account or a credit card to buy or sell cryptocurrencies as well as fiat currency.
Don't want to connect a bank account to use Coinbase? No problem! Shift is a cryptocurrency charge card that connects directly to Coinbase, as well as Dwolla, and that can be used as a regular visa card. Shift is designed specifically for US citizens and residents. Sorry to you all out there that are outside of America reading this! For now, Shift is only offering their services to American citizens in most states. Once you have the Coinbase Exchange set up, it is a simple step to go into Shift, click the "connect Coinbase" button and voila! Your card will be in the mail in no time.
