1- India may levy Goods and Services Tax on cryptocurrency trading, according to people with direct knowledge of the matter, even as there’s lack of clarity about their legal status in the country.
The government may levy an 18 percent GST, the people said requesting anonymity as they weren’t authorised to speak to the media. The proposal, being considered by Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, will be tabled before the GST Council after it’s finalised
2 - The growing crypto exchange Huobi Pro announced Wednesday that it will be launching a new market index for its customers. The Huobi ‘main force’ index, which is intended to “reflect the overall performance of Huobi Pro market,” will track ten different digital assets traded against Tether dollars (USDT) in real time.
3 - Popular cryptocurrency exchange desk Coinbase has announced plans to shutter its digital asset platform GDAX to launch the brand new Coinbase Pro which will cater specifically to crypto-traders.
While both platforms will remain active for the time being, the idea is to phase out GDAX on June 29. The new platform will retain all GDAX functionalities – and introduce some new ones, of course.
4 - Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has acquired Paradex, a platform that enables users to trade virtual coins directly with each other, the San Francisco-based company said on Wednesday.
Coinbase plans to make some enhancements to the technology and launch Paradex’s services to customers outside of the United States, enabling them to trade “hundreds of tokens
5 - Argentinian bank, Banco Masventas, has announced it will begin using Bitcoin instead of the international SWIFT system in order to make international transfers.
