The American dollar is something accepted almost worldwide! However, it has been facing some seriously difficult times. Between the markets burning or going on a roller coaster ride almost daily, the Fed, multiple countries dumping the dollar for gold, it's really starting to look like the dollar is on its way out! Just for this week alone, the USD remains one of the weakest currencies after some comments from the Feds and FXStreet says that the current government shutdown is also having a negative effect on the dollar.

The aforementioned abandoning of the USD in trades between certain countries in favor of gold should be a bit of a wake-up. Just off the top of my head, I can think of China, Russia, Iran, Turkey, and Indonesia who are using gold in favor of USD. Why are they doing this though? Of course, three of those countries currently have some pretty iffy relations with the United States, but outside of those countries, there are others who are selling or dumping their US debt (which is currently in trouble according to Feds) and stocking up on gold! Again: WHY?

Throughout history, gold has been a staple of trading, and on the Biblical aspect for those in the know, the United States will be destroyed and its money will be rendered useless, so what is the point of keeping that around?
