Burst Nation @ https://www.burstnation.com

Burst uses a new algorithm for proof of HDD capacity (POC) mining, which means that Burst is the first crypto-currency mined using free space on your hard-drive. Instead of buying expensive mining equipment, like graphic cards, all you need to mine Burst is some free space on your device.

Miners pre-generate chunks of data known as 'plots' which are then saved to their disk. The number of plots you store is effectively your mining speed. Every block the miner will skim through the saved plots, and come up with an amount of time until it is able to mine a block if another block hasn't yet been found. After reading through the plots is complete, your hardware can just sit idle until the newest block is found. And if you ever decide to stop mining Burst you can delete your plots at any time and use your HDD-space again.

The energy consuming part of mining is performing the calculations, but with Burst, the computer performs the calculations once, then all it does while mining is to read a few megabytes off of a hard drive every few minutes and checks every nonce it pulls off, instead of working through heavy calculations like Bitcoin. Burstcoin's transaction network only uses 10 kW compared with Bitcoin's 200 MW. Transaction costs therefore are 0.02 Cents for Burst and 5 Cents for Bitcoin.

The Burst Android client was originally just an interface for the Burst official web wallet. It currently supports logging into and using your Burst wallet. The client now also supports official Burst Android Plotting and Mining. This means, that you have the option to mine the coin on your mobile devices, something that isn’t available on any other PoW based coin.

Burst coin it's the new digital currency and it's a BIG deal!

Interesting i was recommended to check out Burst Nation earlier today and was reading the forums. I noticed that all the messages were less then a week old.

I also bought a 8tb hdd which is gonna take a few weeks to get here from Canada but then I'm gonna be mining that too.

I'm not sure how this project will fair long-term as more than a speculative trading asset. I don't think the POC idea is very sound. Check out my opinion below:
https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@kyle.anderson/burst-my-bubble-an-opinion-on-the-dangerous-influx-of-altcoin-posts

so you posted this link yesterday, and today, but not tommorow

I am going to keep sharing my opinion when the topic is brought up.

as long as you have something new to say, I welcome it

Oh that's very interesting. I voted and followed.

Well first, I scored big on Boolberry blind luck i got in cheap and out on a spike. My volume was really low though. I got luckier with Pascal, lol. I am very new trading, just a few months old.

What attracts me to Burst that the other cheap coins don;t is that it actually has value outside of being traded. It's like Steem has value because people want their vote and curation to be stronger so people will pay for that ability.

Burst people will buy to play at the casino or soon they can use it with Steam Games. I'm not sure on those details but its sounds like a huge step forward to be considered a real coin with value outside of trading.

It's trading so low now that even at this level I can pay off the equipment in 6 months or so without much risk of it going lower. Plus I bought the hd with my Steem earnings and lucky trades. So for me its kind of like Zero risk because I never used any of what many people call "real" money.

For me it's still an experiment if I fail I nothing in my life will change. I won't lose the a house or a car or may cats run away.

BUT

Burst could go to a penny or maybe even a dime. At which point my invest I might be able to buy a house or a car or a trip to Florida to thank Craig personally for getting me involved.

You could be right. Either way i'm enjoying the ride.

It is great that you are getting into tradeing. I dislike the burst project because I feel their algorithm could be dangerous in the future. Not to mention that it is just a complete waste of disk space. There is a reason they are worth so little. Check out projects like Ethereum and MaidSafe, both have similar principals to using storage but do so in a way that can provide a very useful service.
I want to point out why Craig is so supportive of Burst on this site. Potentially like you, he happens to be personally invested into the token and holds a portion. The only thing giving legitimacy to his position is convincing others to jump on board. Sure you might turn out okay with a profit when enough people hop on the bubble but in reality it is just that, a bubble. There is only so much room in the crypto space for lasting blockchains and I don't think burst is going to be around for the long haul. Projects like Ethereum can currently do everything burst can do and more.

First. Thank you for your concern. I am really new to all this stuff and I know that I am not digging to deep when I look into Burst and other coins.

I really listen to your words and ponder them as well.

So I got an 8tb hd on the way to mine Burst with my laptop. What else can I mine with an 8tb hd that's low energy like Burst.

I am rarely in too deep to anything that I can't change course. The reason I am on the Burst path is I think it can't go much lower and if it just goes up a little I could make off with a good return.

And I don't know enough about other coins.

Burst pissed me off last night because the wallet for the desktop would not install on my comp so tried downloading it from 2 different sites. Both version said "corrupted" download again.

Then I wanted to try my hand at the assets exchange and I could not for the life of my find the asset exchange market. I watched a 5 tutorials and could not find a single asset to buy. Clicking the exact same things the guy in the video clicked on did get me the same results. I'm baffled.
I also know Craig gets excited and his excitement gets me going. He's offered good advice here for me anyways.

I am interested to mine Burstcoin too, but when I think about how much burst I can earn each day trading, then I stop thinking about mining

Yea it seems like work but very cheapto operate once the rig is plotted and ready to go. One Busrt block has 10,00 coins in it so if i can score a few of those a month plus some lucky trades I might just buy a boat this summer. lol

Im just thinking it's a $309cad (bestbuy.ca canada special ends in 2 days) investment to earn free money to play with in the markets. It's trading so low how I expect its value to go up up up.

a great investment for sure

it's so cheap tho!!!! LOL..(to mine).... and If your supporting the blockchain to made sure it healthy, go to Best Buy son!!!LOL

Craig, why not start mining Brust and create an asset and we can all buy some :)

trading is easier than mining or managing assets

interesant thanks

Is is safe for ssd?:)

i dont mine, but you ask in the burst nation forum https://www.burstnation.com/

shhh man!!! Lets rack up first lol
