All of us create lots of data everyday but this Data is not utilized efficiently and not treated responsibly and it goes to vast amount of value and knowledge locked in data silos and controlled by large companies and organizations.
Datum tries to build a system where it can reward all the stakeholders along this value chain, they trying to build a public infrastructure to store and trade data, you have to put data somewhere and this data store shouldn’t be controlled by facebook or Google or anyone else, should be controlled by you and the other part is how do you exchange and trade this data.
What they building includes self sovereign identity and data ownership, it is the account that you own and digital identity that you control and they building the data base where all the data is encrypted and your private keys, your privacy is guaranteed and open to anyone and you decide who gets access to your data which developers can use your data to provide services to you and which advertisers you want to allow to target you.
