Personally i feel a bit distrusting of altcoins after few bad experiences. Luckily i had always the correct mindset of never putting more than i was willing to lose...ultimately i was taking it for granted that i would lose them all and it was worth it just for the opportunity! This thing still is in play, but there's so many things new things popping up that it becomes quite tricky to figure out what is worth pursueing...with all the noise it's really difficult, don't you think?
It is difficult, I agree 100%. You need to do A LOT of research in order to protect yourself and your investments. Especially from illegitimate ICO's. I've had some really crap experiences with some ICO's so ever since then I've been doing A LOT of research before finally pulling the trigger.
Cool! I've been wondering about this one. Was gonna just invest based on the ticker "cuz you never know when you're gonna go!!!!" But I'm better off with an in-depth review like this... I don't think it'll ever displace Google, but then again I never thought Dtube would get traction against Youtube either. And that's changing fast! We've got to fight as a society against the centralization of our digital lives. It's paramount. Search engines, social networks, video distribution platforms, etc. They all can't be run by FANG/BAT!

I don't think they're trying to compete with google. Google is a search platform for websites. This is a search platform for blockchains. So it'll actually work hand in hand with google :) At least that's my limited understanding of it.
