In the new version of MetaMask there is support for Trezor wallets

Developers Ethereum-wallet MetaMask, which exists as an extension for browsers Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Brave, announced the release of a new version of their product - 4.9.0. Now the updated application supports hardware wallets Trezor. This is the creators of MetaMask reported in their Twitter account.

The connection between the MetaMask extension and Trezor wallets will allow users to take advantage of some of the upgrade benefits. For example, check the balance of the Ethereum account, sign Ethereum-transactions, and sign messages to be able to log into DApp applications

In addition, according to the MetaMask team, the integration of wallets will increase the overall security level of the dapps-ecosystem, since there is automatic protection of tokens and support for ENS + IPFS. Also private keys always remain in Trezor, and transactions are signed inside the protected wallet.

At the moment only the version for Chrome-browser supports Trezor wallets, note in MetaMask. However, versions for other browsers will be updated soon. Perhaps the same functionality will also be added for Ledger wallets.

To enable MetaMask communication with the Trezor wallet, the user needs to perform the following actions:

Update Chrome extension of MetaMask to the latest version;
click on the extension icon in the upper right corner of the browser, after which the message "Connect Hardware Wallet" will appear;
connect the hardware purse and click "Connect To TREZOR";
confirm the export of the key and select the Ethereum account.
