First WannaCry and now Petya? I Say Market Drivers!
Imagine a world where companies, financial institutions, governments, and hospital systems run on the blockchain for storage encryption and safe secure transactions
That's why we are all here right?
Not just on Steemit, but in the crypto space at large. We dabble, code, promote, speculate, and purchase knowing that blockchain technology is the future of how the world operates.
So why did I mention Petya and Wanna Cry?
It's simple. Those black hats want cryptocoin and the users who fell victim to their software want cryptocoin to get their files back. What does that mean for cryptocurrency? Demand. Demand demand demand. Did you notice how the prices started climbing/fixing again? Because I did.
It's not just about malicious actors fluffing their own wallets. I'm not even sure they're quite they definitively thought through my above point. Suppose you can't rule it out.
No ...
This is about the need of the public and of the rest of the world to get on board with the benefits of blockchain tech in light of the increased difficulty in hacking it.
What we are seeing is emergence.
The infancy stage, to be sure, but the beginning of a shift, a sea change in how entities conduct themselves, or at least how they will need to conduct themselves. It's only a matter of time before all of our centralized services, applications, and companies (let alone our secured, decentralized, verifiable identities) will become cryptographic and unalterable.
