Two long awaited updates to the Ethereum network went live today at block 7,280,000.
After a few delays and bug fixes, the updates Constantinople and St. Petersburg were combined into one, and it is now live on the Ethereum main net. Constantinople increases efficiency of the network and decreases transaction fees, while St. Petersburg deletes EIP 1283, a previous update that had vulnerabilities.
Per Ethernodes.org, only 22.3% of Geth and Parity clients are running the Constantinople compliant version.
At the time of this writing, ETH is down less than half a percent on the last 24 hours and is trading at $137.08. source
