If you are truly not able to distinguish an AI from a human, then it will have passed the Turing test. I would say that at that point, it doesn't matter, except that someone will own the AI and will be exploiting it for their own purposes. However, there is a reason why we call nagging salespeople "salesdroids": they are not actually very far from an AI that is owned by a company and doing its bidding.

I believe that currently many "untrained eyes will not be able to pass that test. We can hardly recognize fake written news. Video that looks real will be even more convincing.
Im sure many fincial corporations will exploit AI to create even more fake financial news in order to control the market. That's what I afraid the most. Crypto community will be constant victim of those kind of abuses.
Can you imagine that right now AI could already create 'fake' video of your favourite influencer in which he would make some fake statements, which could affect your financial decisions.
I hope I can spend my old days living in some remote 3rd world country, disconnected and off-line. Far from all upcoming mess.

The scary thing is that many people today already refuse to believe actual evidence and data. Now we have deep nets creating realistic scenes from 2d image (See Deep Mind's Neural Scene Representation and Rendering). Imagine how those who refuse to look at data and even deny it will be once our deep nets can just make up things that look absolutely real.

Some people mentioned that we need to develop solutions that will allow us to distinguish fake audio/video from real one.
That's a great business opportunity for those who can provide such a solutions. Dont you think?
