Will Mobile Phones Pave the Way for Mass Crypto Adoption? ~ #Samsung
I just stumbled across a Coindesk article stating that Samsung has confirmed that its new Galaxy S10 will include private crypto key storage. Why is this a big deal you ask? Well, crypto can be complicated, especially for those who are new to the space.
“Galaxy S10 is built with defense-grade Samsung Knox, as well as a secure storage backed by hardware, which houses your private keys for blockchain-enabled mobile services.”
I think most people would agree based on the statistics, that internet usage via cell phones outweighs lap top and desktop internet use by a good margin. This just simply means that people spend more time on their phones using the web than they do sitting in a chair with a big machine. So now that Samsung is giving all of its users the ability to use crypto more easily and with much easier use of accessibility, they have enabled novices to start behaving like pros.
For a massive company like Samsung to implement this capability into their devices is huge in terms of advancing crypto to the masses. It also tells me, more importantly, that Samsung sees crypto as something that's not going away. That is BIG news! I will go even farther and say that not only do they think it's not going away, but that it will be such a feature in our daily lives, that they have spent a lot of their money to market this option to their consumer base...even before the behemoth known as Apple has.
But it's not only Samsung! The HTC Exodus was designed with crypto in mind, as well as Sirin Lab's Finney, a mobile phone based off a crypto, Sirin. There is even speculation that Samsung will enable a crypto wallet into the Galaxy as well, but as of now, it's just speculation.
With just about anyone over the age of 8 now days owning a cell phone, this move is monumental in paving the way for mass adoption of crypto. It's obvious now, that Apple will have no choice but to follow suit, or be left in the dust. How will it all unfold, I'm not sure. But cell phones and crypto will be going together hand in hand in the near future, you can bet your bottom BTC on it.

Thanks man! We need big companies like Samsung to help push this boat down the river. Lord knows the banks aren’t going to do it, even though they are quietly coming up with their own coins and such...shouldn’t matter in the end though, open blockchains will always be far superior to private ones. So let them.
