😃 So Much News Out Of Coinbase Here Is The Wrap Up
Last night I started to get bombarded with skype messages and notifications on my phone. It seems like regulations are coming quicker then we all thought!

1 - Partnership with SEC-regulated Broker-Dealer
Coinbase will be partnering with a number of SEC-regulated custodial broker-dealers such as Autonmous Partners, BoostVC, MetaStable, Multicoin Capital and a few others. These will greatly help with auditing and financial reporting validation.
2 - Coinbase Markets
A new engineering office will be opening in Chicago and will be working on making coinbase the leading cryptocurrency exchange.
3 - Coinbase Prime
This is now open and ready for registrations - https://prime.coinbase.com/ the site pretty much seems to piggyback off of GDAX but provide a wealth of new tools for investors.
4 - Institutional Coverage Group
A group of people who help with sales, sales trading, research, market operations and more. This group is geared to helping big companies with massive wealth get into cryptocurrency.
The above 4 things show a clear path of being regulated and getting big named investors into cryptocurrency. Its finally a door that could lead to trillions of dollars being poured into the markets.

Although Coinbase has been viewed as more of the traditional style institution, I respect them for going at it slow to ensure better execution. While their customer service has not been the best, it is truly one of the better platforms bringing great solutions to those interested in these assets. Unfortunately, they remain limited to a handful of assets but the potential for them to increase the offering is a great gateway for the future of others. Look forward to seeing how they execute and bridge the gap to institutional investors as custody is a big constraint there.
I admire coinbase for being a very business savvy organization. Very easy to use for retail investors, but heavily engaged with large institutions to facilitate crypto adoption and large scale trading & storage. They catch a lot of flack, but coinbase has done great things for thw crypto community overall.
