Atlanta Blockchain Meetup: "Don't You Know, They're Talking 'Bout An Evolution..."

in #crypto-news8 years ago (edited)

Dash is aiming big with its forthcoming V13, codenamed Evolution.

Fans of the great singer Tracy Chapman may recognize the post title, as it is a slight variation on a classic line from her hit song "Revolution". The Dash team are currently working on a crypto revolution of sorts, making crypto easier to use for the staggering amount of non-technical people who have yet to take a chance on this medium of exchange.

At the recent Atlanta Blockchain Meetup, Evan Duffield, along with Amanda B. Johnson and Pete Eyre, took to the stage to describe Dash and its technologies to a group of interested crypto enthusiasts and investors. They covered the usual things that Dash is known for, such as privacy, instant transactions, masternodes as an investment and decentralized governance, with Amanda explaining how she became an employee of Dash.

Evolution will feature an app builder for participating merchants.

The topic then switched to the much anticipated forthcoming Evolution release, and the Dash crew did not disappoint here. Fresh off of the reveal of the stunning DashPay wallets by Robert Wiecko in Warsaw, Evan still had some surprises up his sleeve. Along with describing the usual features such as login-based personalized accounts that are accessible from any device, a centralized-style UI on a decentralized platform, and friends lists, Evan commented that the goal for Dash with Evolution is to be the Apple of crypto. As such, Evolution would need its own App Store.

Prospective merchants will be able to create their own decentralized apps to run on the second-tier masternode network, and plug in directly to the system to begin transacting with the growing userbase. This is how Dash will solve the "chicken and the egg" problem between users and merchant adoption. They will give both easy tools to get set up and start using the system.

An App Store-like experience will await users of the Evolution platform, building over time.

With funding from the governance and budgeting system (DGBB), Dash is hiring more development talent to help build this exciting, groundbreaking technology in a timely manner. In the meantime, we can just take these sneak peeks and dream about decentralized PayPal, until Dash makes it a reality in 2017.

Here is the recorded video of the team at the Atlanta Blockchain Meetup:

I'm a non-technical guy and I can see how Dash is doing great things because from what I've seen over many months is it all just makes sense. They're building something that has great potential. I'm really looking forward to Evolution and can't wait to someday go into a store and use it. Down with fiat and up with Dash!

Good post and thanks for making some people aware of a great opportunity!

My pleasure. I feel that Dash is the currency of the future, so I am pleased to educate people.
