Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. The pitch was flat and slow and offering little assistance to spinners. Pakistani openers took the advantage of great batting conditions and made a brilliant opening stand of 205 runs. This was the first 200 plus opening stand against Australian team. Imam ul Haq departed after scoring brilliant 76 runs.

Hafeez scored a brilliant hundred in his returning match. He made 126 runs. At the end of day 1 Pakistan scored 255 runs. Azhar Ali was the third wicket to go. He scored 18 runs. With the brilliance of Haris Sohal century (110) and Asad Shafiq 80 runs Pakistan managed to make score of 482 runs. For Australia Siddle took 3 and lyon took 2 wickets. 2 pakistani batsmen got runout.
In reply Australian opener provided a great start.Australia lose the first wicket when Finch was departed after scoring 65 runs. The opening wickets added 142 runs. Usman Khawaja made 85 runs. No other batsmen managed to score big runs and all team bundled out at the score of 202 runs. This was one of the worst collapse of Australian batsmen.

For Pakistan Bilal Asif took 6 wickets and Abbas took 3 wickets. Pakistan started the second inning with a big lead of 280 runs. The start was not great and Australian took 3 wickets at score of 45 runs. Imam ul Haq was the fourth man to go he scored 48 runs. Haris Sohail, Asad Shafiq and Babar Azam played decent inning and Pakistan declared 181 runs and setting a target of 462 runs to win.
Australian opener again provided a brilliant stand of 87 runs. Finch was the first man to go. He scored 49 runs. Marsh brothers departed without adding any score. At one stage Australia was 86 for 0. Brilliance of Abbas restricted Australia to 87 for 3. Head joined set Usman khawaja in the middle. Both added 132 runs in the fifth wicket stand. Head departed after scoring 72 runs. Labuschange was the next man to go. He scored 19 runs. In the last session of the match Pakistan required 5 wickets but Tim Paine brilliance and Khawaja determation helped Australia to level the series. Khawaja made brilliant 141 runs. After the dismissal of Khawaja, Star and Siddle dismissed cheaply by Yasir Shah but Paine & lyon survived in last 12 overs and the match ended in draw.

For the match saving performance Usman khawaja was declared the man of match award. Australian batsmen showed a great determation in the second innings after collapsed in the first innings. This will certainly build a great confidence in team Australia. Let's see what will happen in the next test.
