The sanctuary is devoted to Lord Anjaneya who is alluded to as Veeranjaneya in this sanctuary. The historical backdrop of this place (Kshetram) is gone back to the time of Ramayana. As per the legend, Lord Rama himself had drawn the image of Lord Hanuman on the stone with his bolt while he was resting at this place and was accepting the cordiality of Lord Vayu.

Master Sri Rama has finished the illustration of Lord Hanuman with the exception of the little finger of Lord Hanuman's left hand. Later Vyasaraja has molded this illustration into an icon, while Vyasaraja attempted to shape even the little finger of Lord Hanuman's left hand, it is said that the finger of the symbol was cut off independent from anyone else and begun dying. Which shows Lord Hanuman's aim to keep the symbol as drawn by Lord Sri Rama.

Legends likewise say that in the wake of tuning in to the news of Lord Sri Rama's Victory over the Demon Lord Ravana, Lord Vayu has enriched this place with trim of brilliant blossoms to welcome Lord Sri Rama on his way back towards North to Ayodhya. Individuals trust that this trim of brilliant blossoms can be seen by the individuals who are close to death. This sanctuary is known as Abhayahasta Anjaneya Temple and is situated on the banks of River Papagni. In Telugu dialect Gandi implies a tight entry for the water to stream out. This place is by all accounts a restricted entry for the waterway to stream in the middle of the slopes of Eastern ghats. This place situated in Kadapa locale and is 55 km far from the Kadapa town.

It's amazing how beautiful these temples are. Such bright, elegant, in good condition. Once it is clear that these temples are used by believers in success, as can be seen in the photo, where there are a lot of people near the temple
