Cosplay is still part of this team but not like it once was

Some of our newer players were introduced to us through various cosplay events, namely Phoenix Comi-Con. It was a good way to find more members and other fans of Resident Evil while supporting a local no-kill animal shelter with the Umbrella Corporation Arizona Hive, a cause-play charity group. We were there with them for a few years until there was an incident involving a lone gunman entering the premises carrying a few real-steel weapons. Luckily, the security and police apprehended him before any damage was done, but the psychological effects on the community and the owners of the event took its toll. Props of any kind were banned for the remainder of the event including all of our teams' airsoft guns that played a huge role in who we are. The rules were later revised to a ban on any props resembling firearms, real or fictitious. We were an army of zombie killers with our guns and weapons taken away. One day it might change, but the sway of the media surrounding the incident killed all but what little hope there is to reversing the decision made by PCC. Until then it's all airsoft and development, with some cosplay thrown in from time to time.
