My take on Patron and Sharing the Influencer Economy

Patron is a platform that helps creators/influencers make a living. Patron allows interaction between fans, creators and sponsors. In an increasingly difficult world for online creators, Patron will allow advertisers to find worthwhile creators to promote their product, which means advertisers will hopefully get more return on their investment.

Patron ranks influences by the following, followers, how the audience engages with the content and reputation. This system will help advertisers clearly see who the most influential people on the site are and allow them to engage in worthwhile business transactions for both parties. Instead of having advertisement being sent to people not interested in a particular type of industry like common advertising, Patron allows advertisers to hone in on a specific market and not waste their money elsewhere. They can agree for example to have a car enthusiast only advertise their specific car or car parts for a period of time. This means the sponsor is sure he is getting value for money and the creator is sure of an income and can continue making exciting content for his followers. Fans can support their favorite influencers on Patron also, by liking the content and engaging with it which helps to improve the creators ranking by Patron.

Patron has a specific token called PAT which makes all of the above magic happen.

I am excited to see if Patron will be able to show if their algorithm for ranking influencers can generate more profit for advertisers than other traditional methods. To me the idea is great and if the execution is good then this idea has huge potential in my opinion.
I think the 2 stumbling blocks for people will be does it do what it says on the tin, and why do I need to use PAT for this, why not accept bitcoin, usd or euro? In my opinion tokening something for the sake of it is a good way to raise capital but only time can tell if it will be effective long term. To me if I am a creator and I get paid PAT and the price is all over the place, why should I accept it above euro or a more established crypto?

I am excited for the project but would advise potential followers of mine to do a lot of research into the company before investing. In their white paper they expected to ICO @ 14c-50c per PAT and it came in @ .036 when the actual market cap was known. maybe it was an oversight or over confidence but I wonder is that level of over confidence and delivery a feature of the team for this project.
