21stJuly Betting Update
Just bits and pieces today and back to a loss. I don't normally write much in these updates but I will do so today. There have been no real rules on who can participate in these giveaways, they are open to all and are in part an effort to get more steem into the hands of more users. However there does seem to be an effort going on to milk these giveaways by the creation of multiple shill accounts.
This was pointed out to me before on numerous occasions but I have been reluctant to spend the time and effort to vet all of the accounts that benefit from these giveaways. However this abuse is diluting the payout to those genuine accounts that are putting in effort on this platform to grow and these are the users I want to help. Part of that reluctance is that I don't have the time to fully vet all accounts and also there can be genuine reasons for multi accounts, for instance family members.
However, looking into some of the accounts that have received steem from these contests, it is apparent that some accounts are just shill accounts that are not posting/contributing on Steemit and are just set up for the payout. Therefore I will be excluding these accounts from future payments, thus increasing the payout to genuine accounts. I will from time to time investigate accounts receiving steem and if they are not contributing via posts and comments and votes to the Steemit platform they will be deemed shill accounts and excluded from any payouts.
My recent investigation highlighted the following accounts as shill accounts or accounts just set up to extract Steem from contests, they show very little genuine acivity on the platform.

That would be, having looked into those accounts there was a ton of circle jerking etc going on. No problem with anyone making money but throw a little back in to the sea at least.
Hi @stimp1024 i have only just recently had my account activated and am just learning about the do's and dont of steemit i am hoping to start blogging about things however am a bit reluctant at the minute as there has been a lot of downvoting and as i understand these are just random and they would hurt me as i have 25 rep as opposed to someone with a high rep. I follow your bets as i place the same bets myself with limited success currently although i hope this will change soon. Thanks for taking the time to read
Welcome to Steemit @steemitazhar, make sure you read the FAQ which you can get to in the top right menu, there are some basic rules there to follow. Do not let flagging prevent you from blogging, you will normally be told if you are doing something wrong before you are flagged. If you are flagged for no reason but your content is good the up votes will out do the down votes, but it does matter on the power of the account that votes.
I have not done one but it is recommended to to a introduce yourself post, put you should only post once with that tag. As for my bets I wouldn't bet on them, they are just for fun in an attempt to give away Steem. I don't post my serious betting on here. Its like first day at school lol Im just following your bets and placing minimum amount as i am not doing very well with my own so atleast i have you to blame lol Im waiting for football season to start not too keen on horses never done well with them but generally have success with football
Yes, tell me about it, no football is terrible now the World Cup is over, it won't be too long to wait now though, about 3 or so weeks, but don't lose all your money following these bets!

Thanks, never an easy thing to do and I expect a backlash but there you go. They have had a good innings and its not fair on the decent Steemians trying to make it on this platform. Again no problem with anyone earning off of contests, just lets be fair about it. This problem has been pointed out to me for ages and I have been reluctant to act, that is now over.

Thanks for the support, it had been pointed out to me on numerous occasions before, now I have acted. No problem with anyone earning off of these as long as they are using the platform so it will grow, that can be posting, commenting or just curating. But not just setting up an account to take winnings only.
Good move excluding non active accounts, more needs to be done I would say over 50% of all accounts are inactive and have been set up on autopilot which makes the whole platform kinda pointless. Keep up the good work

why do you always vote with bots at the last minute for article that are 3 day old? There is no logic in that - you just screw up the people who assess when it will be most convenient to vote and you spoil everything. There is no sense in what you do. Doing that everybody lose. Can you understand me?
If you can see everytime you pay, you make it to go -10% and everybody lose. It is extremely irritating, even more that you are pay with all bots and people have no choice but to confront with your confused system and lose. I think you lose too very much.

I think I explained it in the article, accounts are being created to just take advantage of the payouts only. They are not contributing to the platform with votes and comments. The accounts need to engage for the platform to work, Steemit can only grow if we help each other. I have no problem with accounts taking Steem from these contests but I want to see some effort to help the community grow, we all benefit if that happens. If the account was genuine it would be doing that.
