There are an increasing number of writing contests here on Steemit and some have excellent prizes that are well worth going after. The problem I was having was finding them in the sea of new posts in the contest tag. You might have been having the same problem.

Now you can simply drop by my blog each day to see what writing contests are going on across Steemit. I really do hope you find it useful.

This is an ongoing post that will be updated each day, with new contests added and expired contests removed. If you’re interested in writing contests, this daily post can be your one-stop-shop to keep updated on what’s new, and what needs to be submitted today.

The Q&A Contest
Deadline: Each question has a deadline of 7 days or at post payout.
Description: Everyday, Monday through Friday, @thepassenger asks a new question and you have a chance to win SBDs simply by answering the question.
Prize: Each day, Top voted comment: the user will get 50% of the reward pool +1 SBD. Top Engaged comment: the user will get 30% of the reward pool + 1 Smartcash tip. One randomly selected user: the user will get 20% of the reward pool

Announcing the Steemit School Poetry 100 Day Challenge
Deadline: Each day at 18:00 GMT/UTC with the final entry due June 14, 2018
Description: The Steemit School Poetry Challenge involves writing one short piece of poetry every day for 100 days with a maximum of 7 skip days. This will run 14 weeks and 2 days from March 7, 2018 to June 14, 2018.

Shary's Writing Prompt Contest #3
Deadline: 07:00 GMT/UTC March 12, 2018
Description: Write a story/poem/essay using the topic “If only I knew that would happen to me...”
Prize: 5 SBD for the winner. There may be honorable mentions who will receive 1 SBD each.

Fractal Writing Contest #8
Deadline: 14:00 GMT/UTC March 12, 2018
Description: Provide a response to the fractal image in the contest post. Your response can be in any form – story, poem, haiku, even just a title or another image.
Prize: The winner gets half the SBD made in the post, minimum 1 SBD. The rest are split to the other winners: if there are enough SBDs made by the contest post, there will be a 2nd- and 3rd- place winner, as well.

READING CONTEST
Deadline: 14:00 GMT/UTC March 12, 2018
Description: Read the FIRST 11 CHAPTERS of the 'Silent Water' fiction story written by @aschatria and then respond to three questions posed in the contest post.

@markrmorrisjr has a contest that requires little effort on your part, but should be great fun for everyone involved. Each day, he'll put up a post with some writing prompts, between 5 and 10, some written, some images. If you'd like to see him write one of them, vote for it in the comments. The prompt with the most votes will be his story inspiration! He will write a story, from scratch, of at least 500 words, and base it on the prompt! Then he’ll choose one lucky person who chose the winning prompt as the winner of the contest and they get 25% of the SBD from the story post. He’s had stories pay out over 700 SBD in the past! He plans on doing this every day until he reaches 5,000 followers, so it could go on for several weeks. Here’s the “contest”

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. The Isle of Write is already following my list for some time, and I just connected with @davemccoy yesterday, so the #newbieresteemday and #nwebiegames community is being made aware of the list.

I do include @vermillionfox's contest, however the link you posted is the past contest which ended March 2nd and she hasn't posted a new contest yet. On her blog she said it will be delayed as she is behind on her sketches. So, we have to wait a bit longer for a new Fox Tales.

One of my goals is to get these contests in front of as many minnows as possible.

I usually post this sort of the thing inside the @steemrepair server for free, but I agree that is a wonderful idea, maybe I should change my tactic and help bigger audience, plus making some extra sbd would help group account as well.

Thank you for adding my READING CONTEST on your list of contests for this week, you forgot to what is a total word count of the piece, this can be relevant for the contestants.

The whole thing has a 13 330 words ( aprox).

So, it is possible to read it under the hour. Also, the chapters are written in an easy to understand language without much styling or complication, so it is a pretty smooth reading adventure.
This is an ideal contest for everyone and it is much easier than creative contest.

One another specific thing about it is, that A SUBMISSION IS SECRET.

All contestants submit three answers into the FORM which is linked in the contest so nobody can re-write their review and in that was disrupt the contest.

Thanks for adding the additional information @aschatria. I intentionally don't include all the details in my post, because it's already a 20 minute read and could become unwieldy otherwise. I expect that the contestants will click through and read the rules and conditions of the contest ;)

And while there is a reading component to your contest, there is also a writing component, which is why I included it in the Writing Contest list. Not to mention that many (most?) writers are also voracious readers.
