Thought of the Day

in #conspiracy6 years ago

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

I remember seeing this poster when I was in school.
There's always been the bystander effect. I can only imagine that's amplified online where people don't have any real-life bonds with people. Sticking your neck out for others is risky. In an ideal world, the powerful would take the lead with it.

Those who have the heart to do it can lead with a positive example. It might be contagious. If we seize to believe in the good of people, all hope would be lost.

Ah, that's where the problem is. Many people are too busy trying to survive to be 'good' or self-sacrificing. They're struggling for themselves. We're in the rat race and the powerful are winning (as ever). Many of the most successful uprisings started with martyrs. Not many would volunteer for martyrdom or invisibility (on steemit). If you strike whilst you're weak, you die, we all die. Then the powerful regroup and continue as before. First, I think you need to organise.

That is what I am trying right now. If many upvote OTHER POSTS of a victim, the Reputation could be recovered. Could be a post about baby kittens. No one has to risk anything :)

Oh yes... the kittens :D
What if the kitten idea catches on... Steemit feed would be full of cat pics and everyone supervoting the pants out of them. hahaha I'd love to see that you know XD
