in #computer7 years ago (edited)

Hi,
Here is a picture of my completed setup i have the razer blackwidow 2013 (Might want to upgrade if you have any suggestions please do say!) and the Corsair Harpoon RBG (I got it for cheap at the shop i was working at xD)
!Update:just realized its not in the picture but i'm using it now!!

I built a new computer in January and thought i'd show it off! Tell me what you think! (You can see the old one under the table :D)
My specs are as follows:

  • Motherboard - MSI X-99A
  • CPU - i7-6800k @ 4Ghz
  • RAM - 32GB DDR4 2400MHz Corsair vengance LPX
  • GPU - MSI GTX 1080ti
  • PSU - corsair hx850i
  • CPU Cooler - corsair H100i v2
  • SSD - 3 samsung 850 evo 250gb
  • Boot SSD - 1 Samsung 250GB 960 EVO m.2 SSD
  • Storage - 2 WD black 1 TB & 1 WD green 1 TB
  • OS - Win 10 Pro
  • Case - corsair crystal 460x RGB

Unfortunately i don't have pictures of me building it :/
but i did run in to a interesting problem when mounting my third HDD... Because of limitations in the case it only allows for 2 3.5" drives to be mounted in the bottom next to the power supply i had to come up with a creative idea on where to mount it and i chose the rear fan grill :D

It's just mounted with 2 random screws and isn't really secure but it works! I don't believe this is a original way of mounting it and i'm sure someone else has done it before me but i do like the hacky nature of it and somehow do enjoy it... and it gives the case a more crowded look instead of it just being empty around the back and i do somewhat like it :)

The processor was picked because of it's price to performance compared to the i7-5820k that i was originally considering. The overclock is stable and i'we really never gotten over 60°C so i'm happy with it!

Why the corsair crystal 460x RGB? When looking at cases my thought process went a bit like this...
crystal 460x RGB..
460x RGB..
RGB!!!!
No but really i think it looks nice but the fans are not the greatest and i'm considering upgrading to HD120 RGB's (Thoughts?)

I got 32GB of memory because i felt like running a RAMdisk but.. i never really got around to it and it really helps when running multiple browser windows and running VirtualBoxes but no real point....

Tell me what you think! :D
Have a nice day!

Nice setup dude! :D I like what you did with the HDD on the fan.
The case looks pretty cool also. RGB ftw! :3

Thx! RGB for life...
