Are the service providers in Africa giving us services worth our money?

Today we live in a world that being without a gadget simply means you're in darkness..And most especially some gadgets like our phone's, laptop, pads etc are totally useless without the internet. And how do we get this internet on our devices?, by subscribing to the network providers. And i would say the rate at which this service providers charges for their services are way beyond the books.

Charging 1,500 naira for a data worth 1.5G is totally not fair. And even after paying for this services they say will last for one month, you still end up subscribing again in 2-3 days. You subscribe two times in a week and eight times in a month making it a total of 12,000 naira for 12G in a month. Is that being fair?.

And this has affected a lot of people, especially bloggers, if you are not that rich then it simply means you can't work online because of how expensive the data bundle is. I know very well that his might be like an airtime money to some people so they see it not being a problem, but lets not forget that all fingers are not equal.

Trust me the internet access charge in Africa is so high comparing it to other continent. For example if you're in the uk, all you need is to load on your usb dongle "modem" which is £10 approx N2500 and you have access to a very fast internet service that is 24/7 for a month. Internet service providers here charge 6 times of that and give less service at most times. Sometimes they charge something a bit less than this and then give it a time frame. Sometimes i wonder if they do import internet service too as they complain about other products, or are they trying to tell us that internet service is only meant for the rich. But ff they can actually give data bundles as bonus for recharging your phone, then I don't think internet access should be this high. Should we still blame it on our government as usual? Must every good thing be luxury in Africa?

The most annoying thing is even when you pay for this services, what you then see on your phone is not what you saw on advert, and the suppose 1 month data now only takes you for 3 days. I see this as being extortion from the citizens, i believe the government or a certain body should come into this issue because its getting much way of hand.

Yeah you are definitely right @noraliza. The way these guys zap our data eh. Especially MTN. Glo doesn't work well. Airtel use to have hiccups. The rest are just not important.
Wetin man go do sef? Just check @smyle network ...@maryfavour introduced it the other day. She said its 10k per month...unlimited data.
