Valiant is putting out some great comics right now and unlike Marvel and DC there universe is much tighter because they have a much smaller line of comics. Everything is a lot less convoluted and their books are not hampered by years of continuity and retcons. They really try to make every title an A list title unlike Marvel who is currently flooding market with subpar books too distract consumers from what other companies are putting out.
They are a great company. This current iteration of Valiant reminds me very much of the original, and of the late Crossgen Comics as well. (I loved that company!)
I actually wish Valiant would go just a bit further in their solid, back to basics approach by cutting down their "events" and variant covers. Those conventions are a bit too modern mainstream for my tastes, though they certainly don't beat them to death like the big two do.
