Superhero Chicken. It’s finger licking weird!

This is one of those odd promotions that I wonder about. Who thought this up?!? How? Why? Either way I’m glad there are strange folks in the world or we wouldn’t have this gem.

This was a promotional comic by DC Comics and the fine folks at Kentucky Fried Chicken. KFC has definitely had some interesting marketing campaigns over the last several years. From all the different Colonel portrayals to the most recent Bitcoin Bucket. This falls in between the 2.

If you are a comic book fan the first thing you’ll notice is it’s cover. Looks vaguely familiar...right? That’s because it’s a homage of Green Lantern #76.

This was only available during the 2017 San Diego Comic Con. It was passed out randomly at the DC booth throughout the days in limited quantities. I saw folks walking around with them at the con and tried around 10 times before successful in securing one myself. So it was kind of a tough book to obtain and as most freebies handed out at Con, a lot probably got demolished by folks ruining them.

I personally love these weird promotional items. They are so obscure that most collectors are unaware they exist making them a fun addition to a collection.

These can be found online on eBay if you wanted. They typically fetch between $20-$30 bucks a pop.

A worthy addition to a collection of Green Lantern Comics. Or...if you think Chicken is delicious. It is by the way.
