Vivid Blue Sunshade, Neighborhood Diner … Chiang Mai, Thailand – Colourful Photography

A flash of vivid color appeared at the front of this diner as a photographer passed by late one afternoon.

Looks simple, but delicious

This nondescript diner is hardly the most eye-catching venue in the neighborhood. Its main attractions are the great local food, the quick service, and the very reasonable prices. Most evenings, the dozen or so basic wooden tables are surrounded by loyal clientele.

A/C, or art installation

At this time of year, the late afternoon sun shines directly into the space, warming the diner as far as the open kitchen in the rear. As I approached, the manager unscrolled this bright colorful sunshade, to keep the space cool until the sun set.   

Or, quite possibly, it was a minimalist art installation by the diner’s interior designer. Location – Chiang Mai, on Google Maps
