Full Spectrum Photography - Green Anole Lizard

in #colorchallenge2 years ago

Around late spring this little reptile shows up on my window. Seemingly just to troll the cats inside. It perches itself on the corner of the window and bobs its head and puffs up a red sack under its chin.

It looks around at the bugs hovering around and on a near by holly bush. Though its more interested with the cats.

rw-1190354.jpeg

The lizard will spend up to an hour or two walking up and down the window frame and crossing from side to side.

rw-1190356.jpeg

The lower it gets the more of the chance the cats will leap at it. Which is how the cactus pot got knocked over.

rw-1190359.jpeg

It sees a fly or a mosquito in the corner of the window pane. Checking it out seeing if its worth eating maybe.

rw-1190361.jpg

Or maybe it sees it as a threat? Hah puffy chin again.

A close up of it before departing to where ever it lives.

I take pictures with a special camera. Its a Mirrorless DSLR that has been modified by Life Pixel to see light in other wavelengths. This allows my camera to see light in the Infrared [IR] around 1300 NM wavelength, through the visual spectrum and into the Ultraviolet A and B wavelengths roughly into the 300 NM wavelength.

I carry many filters on me to make the photos you see in my blog, these filters screw on my lens and help me isolate certain wavelengths for certain scenes. These filters can be IR / UV pass-through filters to assist me get a natural photo taking out the UV and IR light. Or I may use a Infrared pass-through filter capture just IR light. I can do the same with UV light as well, though I need some better filters which they can cost a few hundred dollars for true Ultraviolet pass through filters. So for right now I have B + W 403 bandpass filters that still allow some IR light in, due to their cheaper material.

There are also exotic glasses made of sapphire and germanium I am open to working with to replace my silica glass hot mirror with a material that allows even longer wavelengths of infrared to enter my cameras sensor. Special sensors, lenses and filters of that material would be needed as well, so it would be a big project but one that may give some even more unique photography results.

Addresses below to help me buy better camera equipment and support me to travel to locations to do photo and video and overall great blogs in new places. I would be happy to list some of the contributors in my posts for donations that help me along the way.

Thanks for sharing on Pimp Your Post Thursday

Glad I saw this on PYPT, @solominer, because it raises questions of whether these newer cameras are actually better than the 35mm film cameras, and I had no idea about filters that actually "isolate wavelengths", and do they have these filters for the 35s?
I do not have a DSR, or DLSR, or anything other than my tele.

@jamerussell Oh great, thanks for checking out my post. The mods ive done to my camera can be done on any camera.. Does not matter its a film camera or digital. All modern cameras have a "hot-mirror" that can be replaced with what spectrums you want to get in.

You can even mod gopros or webcams to see in infrared by removing their glass covering the camera sensor.

I fell in love with this lizard just because of how pretty you make it look with your photography skills. Someday the cats might become friends with it. Maybe they already are, who knows
