Camouflage, the ability by octopus and squid to manipulate their bodies colour structure is truly something to behold. This littler stubby squid is only the size of a golf ball but it can adjust every cell in it body to mimic it's environment.

The only thing that doesn't change colour are the suckers attached to each arm. If your ever on the hunt to capture images of these or any other cephalopods keep your eyes peeled for the white suckers. You might not see the animal right away but you will notice the suckers.

    Excellent picture @scottdphoto. Really like the image. At first I could t recognizer that octopus due to it 's camouflage. Well great photography and what an image to choose for a color challenge contest. Very innovative and something pretty rare and different.

    GREAT SHOT, again! I love these guys too and what a brilliant opportunity you had there to take the shot... I also love how lightning fast they change colours to mix in the backgrounds.
