Color Challenge — Wednesday yellow — More Fun With Photography Art Filters

 It's Wednesday and it has been an uncharacteristically slow afternoon here at the Red Dragonfly, so I spent a little more time playing with some of my "artistic filters," applying them to various photographs... and generally procrastinating work.

I think it's a fun diversion to just experiment and see what comes up.

As of late, I have been trying to time these with the  @kalemandra's #colorchallenge posts, so I thought I'd pick something yellow for "Wednesday Yellow."

In this case, I found an uncommonly yellow (they are usually orange) macro shot of one of the many calendulas growing on the hillside behind our gallery. This is the original shot:

All in all, a fairly decent result.

Not entirely happy with the way the color wandered towards orange, but it was necessary in order to preserve detail... the more pure yellow, the more detail in the petals was lost.

Goes to show that sometimes there is a definite trade-off with these things.
