Dandelion (Taraxacum) is a very common plant in our region. Children like to play with it, making chains of the flowers or blowing the seeds in the wind.

But this plant is also a healing plant and can be used to prepare a sirup that looks and tastes like honey.

The fresh green leaves can be collected and cut into salads. My favorite salad is a combination of potato slices (luke warm) and dandelion leaves with vinegar and styrian pumpkin seed oil on it. A little bit of onion can bee added, too.

Non-vegetarians would roast tiny bacon pieces and mix them into the salad. Both variations are very tasty.
