Golden pups.
This is Billie a couple of weeks ago with her sisters and brothers.
I think she is second from left of screen. Her mum is a golden lab and her dad a golden Dudley lab. The Dudley carry a lighter gene and can have green eyes and pink noses.
She has patches of white and her paws are pink.
Our yellow pictures from this morning, before it got to hot.

Quilly is still locked in a cage, ever typing posts, comments and replies in the ever vain attempt to break ten bucks. Which, I suppose, gives you an insight into whether he is yet an Orca. :-)

Well, dang! In my 55++ years in the Midwest, I've never seen an ozone warning: Ozone is created when nitrogen oxides from things like car exhausts and air conditioner fumes react with oxygen in the air on hot days. It is colourless, but pungent, and can trigger a variety of health problems including chest pain, coughing and airway inflammation. Somehow, photos like this lessen the horror:

I thought it was a layer of the atmosphere that we had perhaps slightly compromised, and therefore need to be a bit careful in the sun at the beach.
This warning is for the suburbs furthest from the ocean in Sydney.
Sydney is like a basin that sprawls to the mountains. In the west is the plains at the base of the great dividing range (it pretty much runs the length of the continent and is the mountain range). We have moved half way up the mountain about a month ago. Much hotter in summer than Sydney and also much colder in winter. We are going to experience real seasonal change. We hit mid 40s this week, but in winter ,not far from here, just a few kms further up it sometimes gets a little snow.
The hottest summers, the coldest winters: no fair!!! I'd write a letter of protest!

LOL! Where I am, it's below freezing. Sub-zero Fahrenheit at night, "warming up" to 2 degrees by day. If I can just find or make sled dog boots that STAY ON the dogs, they'd love to be out romping in the cold. I tolerate it... but not gladly. It beats the heat, humidity, poison ivy, mosquitoes, ticks, and chiggers of summer. But the icy roads. The dog paws packed with little snowballs and ice balls, slowing our walks... I do love winter but a little moderation in all things would be nice. Anyway. Love your puppy, your flora and fauna, your photos!
