Your consumption of minced meat and beef contributes to climate change

in #climate7 years ago

It takes a lot of energy to produce a kilo of meat. Just consider your own body - how much food would you have to consume to put on a kilo?

When food is produced, greenhouse gases are released into the atmosphere. Compared to other types of meat such as chicken, producing one kilogram of beef requires many times as much energy, and pollutes accordingly. By eating (industrial) meat you contribute more to climate change than if you eat a similar amount of energy in the form of, for example, potatoes and rice.

For many people it's not a viable option stop eating meat altogether, but by replacing red meat with, for example, pig and chicken, you will reduce the negative impact meat consumption has on climate change.

Sorry, but I won't waste my cooking skill on non-red meat :P

All this talk about red meat really makes me crave for a nice steak.

OK, I will make some tomorrow and share the pics. I hope that will help you cope with the cravings :)

I'll be sure to be full up on vegetables already before looking at the pictures. :)
