Remember the post I made about I made about the behaviour of the youth that attend the nearby colleges? Well this is part of the car park I was referring to.
There is a guy that is supposed to be cleaning our streets. I've seen him multiple times sitting on the street side chatting on his phone instead of picking up trash. If anything, he adds to the problem by kicking some of the stuff under the hedges.
I've also seen him pushing his bin thing up and down the road pretending to pick up trash. I've always wondered; if you're going to go through the motions, why not do it for real? Why not just pick up the trash?
Anyway, today I had a spare 30 minutes so I decided to clean the parking lot myself. It's not next to my place, but I have to walk past it to get anywhere, and I'm constantly disgusted by the trash I see there. I also feel that the broken windows theory is starting to kick in, so I figured I'd at least slow it down.
I grabbed a bin sack and a pair of gloves and got to work. It looked a fair bit better, but there were some plastic bottles under the hedges I couldn't get to. Those will be there for the next 2 million years or so I guess.
I figured, why not turn this into a @cleanplanet post? I haven't done one by myself before. I did participate in the group event at SteemFest 3, but that's about it. So in theory, this is my first Clean Planet post. Yay.
Peace and Love ✌🏿
