#21: A City A Story Photo Weekly Contest #12 - Echoes Restaurant (Managed By Differently-Abled Staff)

Echoes is a newly opened restaurant in the city of Bangalore, India. Bangalore is known for it's wide-spread variety of food and has a large number of cafes/pubs/restaurants to offer. Indian, Chinese, Italian, Thai, Continental - you name it and the city will offer you hundreds of option for the same. It's a great place to live in for any foodie like me.

Yesterday I came across a contest hosted by @aaronli which was to share a post about your city and a restaurant in it. To be honest, at first I was completely confused and wasn't able to decide which of the many awesome restaurants to select. I finally decided to share my experience of Echoes Restaurant as it's the only place I know which is not just serving good food and is trying to make profit, but is there to actually help other people and make a difference in the world.

It's built in a small space and is situated on the side of one of the busiest lanes in Bangalore. I almost didn't see it at first! As soon as you enter, you'll find these on either side of the door:

So basically, it's a restaurant which has hired and given employment to the differently-abled people (deaf & mute). At first I thought communicating with them might be difficult. But then I realized, they had all of it sorted out! Right from the time I entered to the time I paid my bill and left, everything went so smoothly. There are small placards kept on the table which will help you communicate with them. The order has to be written on a piece of paper with a code referring to the item that you want. It was pretty easy.

The ambience is beautiful as well. It's a small cozy place where you can sit for hours and have a good time along with your friends. At night the place looks even more beautiful. It's so famous now that on the weekends it's difficult to get an empty table.

The food offered here is delicious as well. They have a wide variety of food and the price is also decent. So you can try a lot of them without burning a hole in your pocket. We had ordered for quite a few items and none of them disappointed us.

I have been to this restaurant thrice now and will continue to visit in the future as well. It feels so good to know that there are people who are trying to make this world a better place. My friends and I have been so impressed by this place that whenever we get a chance to tell people about a food place, we always recommend Echoes. The staff here is amazing. They will not give you a chance to complain and make sure that everything is as per your expectation. A great salute to the owner who decided to come up with such a great thought and help people who were in need. The world needs more restaurant like this :)
