Peut-être n'avez-vous jamais vu la ville de Québec (Québec) Canada, ou peut-être l'avez-vous visitée mais ne l'avez jamais aperçue d'une perpective élevée?

Maybe you've never seen Quebec City (Quebec) Canada, or maybe you've visited it but have never taken a look at it from an elevated perspective?

Si vous êtes dans le deuxième cas, il se pourrait que vous n'ayez jamais entendu parler de l'Observatoire de la Capitale auparavant.

If yours is the second case, it is possible that you've never heard of the Observatoire de la Capitale before.

Comme son nom l'indique, l'Observatoire de la Capitale est un point d'observation qui se trouve au dernier (31e) étage de l'Édifice Marie-Guyart et qui surplombe Québec qui est la capitale de la province de Québec.

As its name indicates, the Observatoire de la Capitale is a vantage point situated on the last (31st) floor of the Édifice Marie-Guyart and which overlooks Quebec City which is the capital of the province of Quebec.

Deux bâtisses ressortent de cette photo, il s'agit de l'Édifice Price (au centre placé devant l'Île d'Orléans) qui abrite la résidence officielle du premier ministre du Québec, ainsi que du Château Frontenac (à droite sous la pointe de terre qui fait partie de la ville de Lévis) où se sont rencontré Winston Churchill et Franklin D. Roosevelt lors de la Seconde Guerre mondiale.

Two buildings stand out on this photo, these are the Price Building (in the center standing in front of the Island of Orleans) which houses the Premier of Quebec's official residence, and the Château Frontenac (on the right and under the spit of land which is part of the city of Lévis) where Winston Churchill and Franklin D. Roosevelt met during World War II.

Ceci est plus-ou-moins un point de vue donnant dans la direction du nord-est, en voici un autre un peu plus vers l'est.

This is more-or-less a view pointing in the northeast direction, here is another one a bit more toward the east.

La structure en forme d'étoile que vous apercevez est la Citadelle de Québec, connu comme étant la plus vieille bâtisse militaire au Canada et maintenant le domicile du Royal 22e Régiment, l'unique régiment d'infanterie régulier entièrement francophone des Forces armées canadiennes.

The star-shaped structure you see is the Citadelle of Quebec, known as the oldest military building in Canada and now home of the Royal 22nd Regiment, the only entirely French-speaking regular infantry regiment of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Maintenant regardons ce qui se trouve du côté sud-ouest de la tour.

Now let's watch what is on the southwest side of the tower.

Quelques éléments se retrouvant sur la photo sont à noter. De gauche à droite il y a: le Parc des Champs-de-Bataille (représenté par l'espace vert), les Pont de Québec et Pont Pierre-Laporte derrière, puis la fine ligne diagonale de la Grande Allée qui traverse le paysage et mène jusqu'à Sainte-Foy.

Some elements found in the picture are to be noted. From left to right there is: the Battlefields Park (represented by the green area), the Quebec Bridge and Pierre Laporte Bridge behind, then the thin diagonal line of the Grande Allée going through the landscape and leading to Sainte-Foy.

C'est tout pour les photos et repères intéressants, ils n'y a pas autant de choses pertinentes à voir au nord et considérant les facteurs de la journée nuageuse et d'avoir à négocier avec une fenêtre, celles-ci étaient probablement mes trois meilleures photographies de la visite.

That's it for the interesting landmarks and pics, there are not as many relevant things to see up north and considering the factors of a cloudy day and having to deal with a glass window, these were probably my three best photos of the visit.
