"Hosanna in the Highest" - Daily Word #10

Today is Palm Sunday.

Christians and Catholics from the around the world celebrate this occasion with the waving of Palm Branches as tehy remember the "ushering of Jesus into Jerusalem".

This is and will always be a Victorious day, as well as a solemn day as the Lord faced his last week, before Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

Unlike the Roman emperors or others in Power (in the days) ALL of them usually rode horses and chariots. Jesus on the other hand, rode on a donkey to signify Humility, Peace and Oneness with the people.

He came not to be served but to SERVE!

Matthew 21:9 from the NLT states...

"Jesus was in the center of the procession, and the people all around him were shouting, "Praise God for the Son of David! Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the LORD! Praise God (HOSANNA) in highest heaven!"

The biggest irony, is that the people who shouted Hosanna will be the same people who shout out Crucify Him, a few days later. Jesus came into Jerusalem as a Lamb ready to be slaughtered so that He could be worthy to SAVE the World.

John 15:13 (NLT) states

There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

It is ONLY by His Blood, by His SACRIFICE that qualifies us to enter His Kingdom, for those who choose to believe.
