ANOINTED FOR KINGSHIP.
11 So he asked Jesse, “Are these all the sons you have?”
“There is still the youngest,” Jesse answered. “He is tending the sheep.”
Samuel said, “Send for him; we will not sit down until he arrives.”
12 So he sent for him and had him brought in. He was glowing with health and had a fine appearance and handsome features.
Then the Lord said, “Rise and anoint him; this is the one.”
13 So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David. Samuel then went to Ramah. 1 samuel 16:11-13 (NIV)
The Anointing of God through Samuel the High priest upon the boy david changed his life from the of a boy shepherd to a king. For the Spirit of the Lord came POWERFULLY upon David from that day forward.
That anointing changed David's status from that of a shepherd to a KING.
From a bush boy to a King.
From unknown to Known.
From unpopularity to popularity.
From nobody to somebody.
From the ghetto to the palace.
Even Jesus Christ himself the High priest of the new covenant has changed the status of those who believe in him.
13 He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13-14 (ESV)
From sinner to righteousness through his blood
From darkness to light, Once I was blind but now I see.
From sickness to health
From boundage to freedom
Was lost but now am found.
Only Jesu Christ can change your situation.
Trust him
Make him your LORD
Your saviour
Your master
Your ALL.
He is capable
