The Greatest Temptation You Will Ever Face - Pastor William Carrol - Times Square Church - 10.14.2018

Temptation comes in many forms. The transparent form is a temptation to sin actively - by doing something wrong. A more subtle form is a temptation to sin passively - by not doing something right. Remember, God does not tempt us, but He does place us in situations where we can be tempted. The Lord always provides a way out of temptation, but we have to maintain our vigilance to find that way. Brothers and sisters, it's time to actively avoid sins of omission. We must participate in the work of God and not settle for something less than what God is calling us into. Jesus was tempted as we are, and He will give us the faith and the strength through the Holy Spirit to imitate Him. Sometimes the greatest temptation is always to pull away from God and from His calling. The enemy will see your struggle, and in that moment a lying voice can come to offer greener pastures. What matters is what God has said. The devil has been a liar from the beginning. Stand up in faith ans seek the face of God in this moment!

Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.
