Facts About The Chinese Political System You Probably Didn’t Know. Public Morality. TIC

in #china7 years ago

After you know these true facts you might actually wonder how moral Western leaders are when compared to how things are supposed to function in China.

So many people fought to the death for “democracy”, the right to choose your leaders is such a privilege taken for granted in many countries. And after the vote of any election the leaders just do whatever the heck they want.

Are elections based on popularity, that able to break campaign spending records every cycle, and who can make the other party look worse, really the best form of governing a nation?

Yes, I am in China have been almost 5 years now and I am under no illusion that things in the Chinese political system are what they seem to project but tell me one Democratic nation that is. The people may not be able to choose their leaders but their leaders only get to be there if they have a life time proven record of doing good things for the country throughout their career.

Let’s take a quick look at what is really happening and get a new prospective on something not always explained to Westerners. For a country that isn’t democratic they have lifted over 700,000,000 million out of poverty. That’s almost twice the population of America.

How could you not be patriotic when you are alive and part China's rise. Having watched your parents struggle to provide food and now 20 years later people are driving cars and taking holiday's around country or the world. (Reality for 700mil Chinese now)

Interesting Facts of the Chinese Political System

The Communist Party of China is the world’s largest governing body.
❯ It’s been in power since 1949, it had 4,500,000 members.
❯ When it was founded in 1921 it had about 50 members.
❯ As of 2015 it has 88,760,000 members and growing.

Today, almost 1 out of 15 Chinese people is a party member making the population highly representative. Western nations these days can't compare. In China, they all must prove they’re good citizens and fit the description of the ideal citizen. And to be honest, aside from the undying and unquestionable adherence to the party, their ideal citizen is pretty much what any country would want for its citizens, role models. Help each other, do your best, give when you can, set a good example and stuff like that. Though when I walk around downtown it doesn’t seem like that at all. Lol
Most people I have met have been genuinely helpful to me when I need it.

Who are these people?

➧ Workers and farmers make up the highest percentage. 38%
➧ Professionals and management 25%
➧ Officials, students and the retired make up the rest and private entrepreneurs can also join the party.

(It's not about the money to be a member it's about the character, though money does help cause you have more options to help others and participate in activities).

How is the Membership Structured?
The CCP members are divided into more than 4,400,000 party groups. Each group roughly has 20 members.
President Xi Jin Ping is in one of them, I’m willing to bet he’s in the cool kids club but I do know he is rather humble when in public.

These party groups meet at different intervals of the year depending on their role in the greater party, every month, few times a year or more. They examine each members work and method. Preventing wrong doing is part of the grass roots daily self-disciplinary system. If this fails party discipline inspectors will come a knocking and rectify any issues and punishing corruption.

Are party members privileged?

No, they are actually governed by regulations more strict then the laws the average citizen must follow.

➢ Party officials must declare all their assets including abroad, marital and family living overseas.
Public officials cannot be share holders in any unlisted companies. And their spouses and family cannot do business in fields where officials play a regulatory role.
➢ Extravagant lifestyle are moral violations and could be punishable.

Since Xi Jin Pin became president more than 20,000 officials were disciplined for moral violations and corruption in the first 5 months of 2016 alone.

This one is actually taken care of in much more progressive ways then in most capitalist countries. All politicians are privileged regardless of what the laws say. We see it daily in every country; some politician is using their power to do something unethical or take advantage of information they are privy too.

What is the Party Working Towards? The Goal.

They are aiming to reignite the country to its former ancient glory and have 2020 as the year to double GDP and per capita personal income from 10 years prior. 2049 is set be the year China becomes a complete modern socialist country.

Ultimately what China has been successful at for the past 20 years is working for them. They want the exact same things we all want. Stable jobs, decent income, good education, food security a beautiful environment and a feeling of happiness because you love your country. Not to forget a better future for our children with more fulfilling lives. There is no shame in loving your country that does all those things.

This is very interesting. However, while I'm glad to hear of advances in "standard of living," forgive me if I continue to long for true freedom, somewhere, anywhere in the world.

As long as force and coercion are used to implement public policy, I will continue to be the sworn enemy of human government. No matter how good a face it puts on, it is rotten evil to the core when it pretends that it has some innate right to rule me by force.

😄😇😄

@creatr

Absolutely. I am not condoning how it actually functions, I'm still looking for the perfect form of government too.

And I also long for true freedom as well. I hope to find it in the next the year or so. Off grid homesteading in Canada. Somewhere to build a small community of like minded people. You would love it.
Thanks for checking it out.

Sounds good; I wish you the best of success! :D

A tad idealistic, almost shilling for Commies, but I agree with your general point--China and it's governance is far better than it is presented as in the West. In the 14 years I've been here, the trend is "better and better".

Still needs better Italian and Mexican food and some good delis.

It is very idealistic and riddled with flaws and favourtism. But hey in a perfect world right we wouldn't need any governments. And i am certain members live a better life than commoners but they have to hide it, they're not allowed to flaunt it.

Oddly u mentioned those two foods. A popular american restaurant here in Dalian called Brooklyn makes amazing American style food, truly quality. And get this they have a Taco Tuesday special. Place is packed. Come to Dalian. You'll love it.

HAHAHAHA! Didn't say there wasn't any. No one in China makes Italian food like my Sicilian grandma or offers a deli like Aunt Jennie. It's not that it's not here, just not satisfying. Lots of restaurants here in SZ too. I would like to make it up to Dalian. If I do, I'll let you know and we can go to that joint together!

tagging along, concurring that government by definition maintains patriarchal hierarchy by coercion, subversion and force - yet it's great to get some insight and balance in cultural perception and understanding - thank you!

glad you found it interesting. This is basically the grass roots of they keep everyone in line.
