Is It Worth Killing and Dying So Someone Else Can Make Money?

While requesting what ultumately became a 720 billion dollar defense budget -- which all but two Democrats in the Senate supported and two-thirds of them in the House supported -- Pentagon Comptroller David Norquist stated:
“Great power competition, not terrorism, has emerged as the central challenge to U.S. security and prosperity ... It is increasingly apparent that China and Russia want to shape a world consistent with their authoritarian values and, in the process, replace the free and open order that has enabled global security and prosperity since World War II.”
OK, let me get this clear. China, the most populous nation on earth, is smack dab in the middle of creating "The Chinese Dream," something we here in America once had. China has its own currency, the yuan, and just last Monday -- as the world's largest importer of oil created the petro yuan was introduced into the world's oil-trading markets. This is a direct challenge to America's petro dollar and it represents a true threat given that China is also the world's top producer of gold. So China has gold backing up the petro yuan!
What has became of the fate of two nations in recent decades who nationalized their oil companies and sought to create their own currency. Saddam nationalized his oil and wanted to establish a new currency -- he was overthrown! Qaddafi too wanted to establish a new gold currency throughout Africa -- he, too, was overthrown!
China and Russia (3rd in gold production) have recently become strongly aligned. The way this dynamic duo is functioning is Russia is the strong point on the military side and China is the strong point on the economic side. Both are deeply committed to introduce the Belt Road Initiative (BRI), China's strategy of reopening the ancient Silk Road trading routes, both on land and sea.
OK, let's get back to Norquist's remark: “... replace the free and open order that has enabled [American] global security and prosperity since World War II.”
America, more and more, is rapidly morphing into a police state. How can we tell? Look at our private prisons, our private probation departments and our private bail bonding system. Look at how US military equipment is becoming part of local police departments, with police even being trained in Israel where ‘control’ is the name of the game. Then add in the heavy-heavy spying powers which have become available to the police state. The Department of Homeland Security’s 60,000 military-like force has jurisdiction 100 miles inside of all of America’s borders. This accounts for over 60 percent of the population. Then consider how many families have been ruined by America’s drug war!

As for prosperity? Three Americans hold as much wealth as half of the people in America. The middle class, The American Dream, has completely collapsed. The entire nation is living in debt and Attorney General Sessions has now publicly come out in favor of debtors prisons. The banks have been deregulated our media has become monopolized and we’re selling off our park land to oil companies. Remember the Occupy Movement? The 1% vs. 99%? Lots of Democrats, especially when compared to Trump, think Obama was a great president. But under Obama’s presidency 95% of all the wealth generated in America went to the fat cats at the top!
What kind of prosperity is this? Is it yours? No. Is it mine? No. Who’s prosperity is it? Okay, so let’s put our young people in harms way and have the bad economy force them to join the military and then we can send them off into a variety of global military situations aimed at only protecting the economic interests of America’s oligarchs and political-consultant class.
Finally, I think it’s clear that Norquist’s remarks and the fears he’s expressed about Russia and China are bettered mirrored at we here in America! America is full of authority of the corporate government upon its people and the so-called prosperity exists only for a privileged few. Americans riddled in debt can hardly be construed as prosperity!
