✴️ FLOYD MAYWEATHER Is Promoting a New Cryptocurrency ICO Called STOX.IO To His 25+ Million Social Media Followers! Should We Be Concerned?steemCreated with Sketch.

"A true champion will fight through anything" ~ Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

Have you seen this?... Floyd Mayweather posted a picture on Facebook and Instagram Yesterday stating... "I'm gonna make a $hit t$n of money on August 2nd on the Stox.com ICO". 🤣

Mayweather even used a few key hashtags that surprised me (Bitcoin, Cryptocurrency, Crypto, Blockchain, Ethereum, Stox) and the post had over half a million likes. 😮

Many people will say this is great news and that if more people talks about Cryptocurrencies, the better... however, it may cause a huge problem down the road.

This is my Question... Should Public Figures, Celebrities, Athletes, or anyone that has a huge influence on Social Media be able to pump a Cryptocurrency without any transparency?

We have no idea if Floyd was paid or offered millions of coins for free to do this. I'm quite concerned about this for many reasons... let me explain.

Just last month a few Social Media Influencers (not to be named) on Youtube with only a few thousand subscribers was able to easily pump a Cryptocurrency from $.60 to $6.00 in a week just by telling their followers.

... and guess what happened next to this crypto, it fell back to under a $1 in a couple of days (the typical pump and dump)... and thousands of people lost their asses off.

So if an influencer with just a few thousand people can manipulate a crypto, what do you think a celebrity like Floyd can do? Should they be held responsible at all? Some may say yes and some may say no...

This post reminded me when rapper 50 Cent promoted a Stock in 2011 that he was heavily "invested" in (given for free) posted on twitter to his 4 million fans, the stock when up 290% but then two days later it fell under .04 ... once again everyone lost their asses off.

On Tuesday, The SEC stated that they will consider some ICO's as "securities" and will place regulations on them. Many people spoke about this as being a good thing but who knows, only time will tell.

I think its awesome that Floyd is telling people about Cryptocurrencies to millions of people but then again, does he even care about the people who he's telling? Probably not... They Don't they call him "Money" Mayweather for nothing.

So be careful out there guys, most people don't have your best interest at all. They just see you as $$$ signs and pretend that they care for you but all they want is your hard earned money.

Interesting story. Thanks for the update.

It does seem like this is the type of behavior that regulations on ICOs would hypothetically be designed to curb.

Either way, I suspect this is not going to be worth Mayweather's while. He has enough money, and the last thing he needs is to get involved with regulators for a payday.

Yeah, he will bring attention of the SEC closer to ICO's now. Might as well do it now than later :(

In case someone is interested, I've written a detailed analysis of the ico: https://steemit.com/ico/@bcn/analysis-will-floyd-mayweather-make-a-ton-off-stox-ico

An awesome break down @BCN! :)

Thanks for that. Good write up.

@stackin, I saw that post, and had similar thoughts about it being bittersweet... Sweet that Mayweather is raising crypto-awareness, but bitter that he's not providing deeper education or cautions. Where's the line of ethical responsibility?

But you know what got me even more jazzed than Mayweather's post about crypto??

McGregor's incredible mindset!

Do you know he trains in front of a visionary mural he had painted in his gym, showing him knocking out Mayweather, with his straight leftie?!

Conor McGregor is a master manifestor. I love his positive, confident approach to life. WHAT A CHAMPION ATTITUDE!

So funny @erikaharris, thats was the word I was looking for "bittersweet", i had some brain fog this morning lol

McGregor is the man, behind all his tuff talk (for promotion)... he's really a motivator. We are big UFC fans, We own a UFC Gym in Las Vegas for 5 years... we get tons of great fighters come by all the time. Chael Sonnen is the only guy that comes in mind if you want to hear good trash talk haha

Epic dude! I bet $10 on Chael Sonnen the first time he fought Anderson Silva. The room got quit when he was in command for awhile. Hahhaha

That just brought back some memories but it is awesome that you have so many pics of you with all these big names! But you are a big name as well. I'm behind because I just found out about you 2 months ago!

Dude! That's so funny... Chael was here doing an ESPN clip, yes ESPN was at the gym 🤔😀... he told me to bet the house on a silva fight, would of lost. He's a cool dude unlike a few others I know haha

I could never talk epic smack like him. It would derail my own game. LOL

He isn't like that in "real life" ... he's all nice but dude is smart! :)

Wow, @stackin. I didn't realize that. IMPRESSIVE. You're quite a motivator, too! 'Preciate you, and your content :-)

Thank you @erikaharris, you inspire me :)

I'm digging that wallpaper! Honestly had to look about 4 times until I realized! :P

That's such a cool thing to know about you @Stackin. Would never have guessed..

It takes 4 years to train a fighter,to hone his/her skills. The Pugalist Sport is a Art form. Mr. MCGregor is way in over his head and out of His Domain.

25 million more people exposed to crypto, I think that's a good thing. Many will find their way to which cryptos are solid and will stick around, like Steemit for example

25 million more people that will get burned because of him. The guy is noob and Stox is most likely scam.

There should be some concern, I totally agree :)

I think he should of promoted STEEMIT, that would of been awesome but of course, he may wanted something "under the table" to join lol

under the table, over the table, around the table, on top of the table. He's getting it all ways

Not yet :) He can promote Steemit at the end of the year.. Let's just gather some more SP first :D

That's crazy, I didn't know this. Imma have to look into this.. haha btw, following you 😊 Hha dude I could of swore I've been following you since the begining. Damn.

You hurt my heart 😂😂😂... by the way, great vlogs you been doin! 💯

Hahaha ,
Thanks man!!

So what do you think people do not have their intelligence to decide what to buy or not?

This was a damn good post!!! It is true! Celebrities have that authority where they can tell their fans to jump off a bridge and they will do it without even thinking. ahhhh the power of influence. Good lookin out cuz I might've hopped on! hahaaha! 🤣

It took me 30 minutes to write 😂😂😂

hahaha!!

This is one of the downsides of such an unregulated market. Anybody with the clout to pull it off can pump a coin with a single tweet.

It happened earlier this week with mcafee saying bitcoin will reach 500k as well

He also stated that he will eat his own 🍆 on national tv if it doesn't reach 500k 😂

Hey @stackin,
It´s actually really concerning that just a few people having some followers in their social media are able to pump a crypto by 1000%, probably just to dump it afterwards earning a lot of money...

But unfortunately that´s how our world works today. Capitalism drives people to trick others just to get some more money and just like in your cases above, it will probably happen more often in future on the Cryptomarket as well...

I have about 100k+ followers... I should pick a crypto and pump it haha.

However, I have a good heart and can't pitch people into things that I know that they will lose out :(

I will not touch anything I know Floyd can manipulate. I hope his followers stay away because he is the whale who will make money and they will be his meal.

He will eat them for lunch :)
