WHO I AM
Carolina Calegari, I was born on november 15, 1987 in the city of Boa Vista, Roraima, a state located further north of Brazil.
WHAT I BECAME
Born and raised in Boa Vista. I went to Curitiba | Parana in 2001 attending high school. In 2010, I graduated in dentistry from the Catholic University of Parana. In the same year, I started specialization in Surgery and Traumatology BucoMaxillofacial by the Brazilian Association of Dentistry and Evangelical Hospital in Curitiba. I am Dentist by profession, for love and also to some extent by family tradition, where we are in four Dentists. I've always been very close to dentistry, from inside my fathers dental office, who is a pioneer in the area in state of Roraima. The fact of caring for others, to guide, to treat pain, restore function and smile, fascinates me every day!
ATUATION
In 2012 I returned to the state of Roraima, and began to work in private office in dentistry. The following year I could have one of the most rewarding and memorable experiences of my life. In a period of one year, I worked through an NGO, in an indigenous community of Macuxi tribe in the city of Pacaraima, in the northern state of Roraima. I lived daily with the natives and their customs, lifestyle and stories, many stories! I attended patients of all ages in the dental office set up in a room at the health center in the community. I performed basic procedures such as cleaning, tooth restauration and extractions and also I did health education lectures. I will tell my experience with more details soon! On november 2013, I left the indigenous area to start working in the city of Boa Vista, in the Dental Specialty Center with oral surgery in the social program of the federal government Brasil Sorridente.
FACTS
Did you know that Brazil is one of the countries with the highest number of dentists in the world? We are a number of 19% worldwide. But even with so many dentists, there is an estimated 20 million people of the population of Brazil that havent access yet to dental treatment.
OBJECTIVE
On the night of July 23, 2016, my boyfriend, who is a technology enthusiast and never tired of looking for something to join the technology of the XXI century to an immense mutual desire to help other people, had the idea to join the world community Steemit to me and my profession. He invited me to found together a project where I would perform basic treatments of oral health of people without financial condition. What do you think of the idea of helping people to have a decent dental treatment? All that will achieved here will be reversed in dental treatment for these people. All the procedure made with the help of you will be placed here, as long as authorized by the patient. After all, Steemit is not for this? A social network to be fed with content and things that really matter and not just a crowdfunding or comments factory.
RULES
Within my knowledge and ability there are some procedures that can be performed, thats include a cleaning or even an oral rehabilitation with implants and dentures. Unfortunately the material, the dental assistant and some operations costs ends up making costly procedures.
My role in this project is to collaborate with the love and all the knowledge that I am getting in these six years of service in dentistry. So you could conduct a no-cost treatment for the less favored patient, which often can not afford even for food. Can you imagine that this person could be completely funded by any citizen in any corner of the planet to carry out their treatment? I will be transparent in all operations made in the project, even because my intention is to help other people! I intend to post photos and videos, statements and patients thanks to all Steemers!

QUEM SOU
Carolina Calegari, nasci no dia 15 de novembro de 1987, na cidade de Boa Vista, estado de Roraima localizado no extremo norte do Brasil.
O QUE ME TORNEI
Nascida e criada em Boa Vista. Fui para Curitiba | Paraná em 2001 cursar ensino médio. Em 2010, me graduei em Odontologia pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná. No mesmo ano, iniciei especialização em Cirurgia e Traumatologia Buco-Maxilo-Facial pela Associação Brasileira de Odontologia em Curitiba-PR e hospital Evangélico. Sou Cirurgiã-dentista por profissão, por amor e também de certa forma por tradição na família, onde somos em quatro Cirurgiões-Dentistas. Eu sempre estive muito próxima da Odontologia, desde pequena dentro de consultório com meu pai, que é um dos pioneiros na área em Roraima. O fato de cuidar do próximo, orientar, tratar a dor, devolver a função e o sorriso, me fascina diariamente!
ATUAÇÃO
Em 2012 retornei ao estado de Roraima, e comecei a atuar na Odontologia em consultório particular. No ano seguinte pude ter uma das experiências mais gratificantes e inesquecíveis da minha vida. Pelo período de um ano, trabalhei através de uma ONG, em uma comunidade indígena da tribo Macuxi, no município de Pacaraima, extremo norte do estado de Roraima. Convivi diariamente com os indígenas e seus costumes, estilo de vida e histórias, muitas histórias! Eu atendi pacientes de todas as idades no consultório odontológico montado em uma sala no posto de saúde dentro da comunidade. Realizei procedimentos básicos como limpeza, restaurações e extrações. Fazíamos palestras de educação em saúde. Irei contar essa minha experiência com mais detalhes em breve! Saí de área indígena para assumir concurso público na cidade de Boa Vista, onde trabalho com cirurgia oral no Centro de Especialidades Odontológicas através do programa social do governo federal Brasil Sorridente.
CURIOSIDADE
Você sabiam que o Brasil é um dos países com maior número de dentistas no mundo? Somos um número de 19% do mundo todo. Mas mesmo com tantos dentistas, existe uma estimativa de que 20 milhões de pessoas da população no Brasil inteiro ainda não tenham tido acesso ao tratamento bucal. Preocupante, né?
OBJETIVO
Na noite do dia 23 de julho de 2016, meu namorado, um entusiasta da tecnologia e nunca cansado de procurar algo para unir a tecnologia do século XXI à uma imensa vontade mútua de ajudar ao próximo, teve a ideia de unir a comunidade mundial do Steemit à mim e minha profissão. Me convidou para juntos fundarmos um projeto onde eu realizaria tratamentos básicos de saúde oral de pessoas menos favorecidas financeiramente. O que você acha da idéia de ajudar pessoas a terem um tratamento odontológico digno? Tudo que for conseguido arrecadar aqui será revertido em tratamento odontológico para pessoas sem condição financeira. Todos os atendimentos realizados com a ajuda de vocês, desde que autorizado pelo paciente, será colocado aqui. Afinal, o Steemit não é para isso? Uma rede social para ser alimentado com conteúdo e coisas que realmente importam e não apenas um crowdfunding ou uma fábrica de comentários.
REGRAS
Dentro do meu conhecimento e capacidade existem alguns procedimentos que podem ser realizados, desde uma limpeza ou até mesmo uma reabilitação oral através de implante e prótese dentária. Infelizmente o material, auxiliar para cirurgia e alguns custos operacionais acabam tornando os procedimentos caros.
Meu papel nesse projeto é colaborar com o amor e todo conhecimento que estou adquirindo nesses seis anos de exercício na Odontologia. Assim, poderia realizar um tratamento sem custo para o paciente menos favorecido, o qual muitas vezes não tem condições nem ao menos para alimentação. Já imaginou que essa pessoa poderia ser completamente financiada por qualquer cidadão em qualquer canto do planeta para realizar seu tratamento? Serei transparente em todas as operações feitas no projeto, até mesmo porque minha intenção é ajudar ao próximo! Pretendo postar fotos e vídeos, declarações e agradecimentos de pacientes para todos os Steemers!
