Today we want to tell you about a very popular gin in Spain. It's about the Premium Puerto de Indias gin.
This Premium gin is made in Seville, specifically in the town of Carmona. Its production takes place in one of the oldest distilleries in Andalusia. Its name relates to the discovery of America, at which time the port of Seville became one of the most influential commerce between Spain and America.
This distillery is also the producer of the first Andalusian pacharán and, in addition, it produces many other distilled spirits, among which the Los Hermanos anise and the Triunfo liqueurs stand out.
The high quality of its distillates is, fundamentally, thanks to the importance of using the best raw materials. The botanists, strawberries and other ingredients used are specially selected from different parts of the world, with the unic purpose of obtaining a first level result.
The life of this distillery has its beginnings in 1880, when a refugee from the Basque Carlist wars arrives in Carmona. His last name was, Izaguirre.
He located where the current distillery is located, he decides to take advantage of an underground water spring to start the elaboration of his first distillates, using copper stills and traditional techniques.
Over time, these facilities have been witnessing the development of products as different and at the same time traditional as pacharán, anise or, at the moment, gin.
