In case you are not aware, one single user currently has full control over the governance of the Steem blockchain. This is a fact. Without the vote from @pumpkin, who hasn't been "active" in 6 months, a user has no chance of becoming a top 20 witness, regardless of your contributions and voting by the rest of the community.
If this weren't the case, our witnesses may actually consist of people who use the rewards for something other than building their personal bank accounts.
You'd think @ned would give a shit. I know there are regular discussions about this issue in the private Slack chat, but, the team needs to focus on SMT's so we can fill this chain with more trash!
The witnesses who could actually affect change and fix the witness voting system have NO reason to do so because THEY ARE THE ONES PROFITING FROM THE POORLY BUILT SYSTEM. Awesome, eh?
You think EOS gets a bad rap for being so centralized? Thankfully nobody cares enough about Steem to really do any digging.
EXPECT MORE FROM OUR WITNESSES.
THEY MAKE AN ABSURD ABOUT OF MONEY WHILE DOING LITTLE TO NOTHING FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF STEEM.
