Click Beetle-Uyo-Nigeria

Hello, I am here for another post, which is about this beautiful insect which I took the picture in my garden and it is called the click beetle. This insects have a narrow and flat body, they are brownish in colour and has a tip blackish colour In it's butt. They are harmless to humans. According to this photo it is sticked on a sunflower. They lay their eggs on the soil and also develop on the soil.
They are important to humans which they help in soil health and they aid pollination, sometimes they damage crops like corn, millet ,and wheat. This particular one has a cool unique jumping skills which other insect don't have.
They often feed on nectar and soft plants.
And they are mainly found in gardens. The adults are always found on flowers and plants.

Greetings, @mitchp
You're welcome to participate in the CCS Community and in this nature observation contest, specifically regarding insects and invertebrates.
Your post is of average quality, in terms of photographs and the expected details and characteristics. How can I identify at least the family of the species you observed?
I disagree with you. When you call it Click Beetle, if I search for that name, I see other types of beetles very different from the one you mentioned. https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elateridae
You can use Google Lens to search for a possible name. I invite you to research this name Porrostoma abdominale, which I think is closer to reality. Please review it and confirm or refute my opinion; we're all here to learn.
Thank you for your participation.
🎉 Congratulations, @mitchp!
